Thirty-one years turning wrenches. Young lads come in wanting to know the trick. There is no trick. There is: turn up, tell the truth about the price before you start, and never hand back a job you would not accept yourself. That is the whole of it. I have outlasted four garages that were cleverer than me and half the price.
