We nearly ended it over a kitchen. Not the kitchen — the being right about the kitchen. I had a whole case prepared. I could have won it. I watched myself getting ready to win it and something in me asked what exactly I would have at the end. Forty-one years married now, and the single most useful thing I know is that being right is very cheap and being close is very expensive.
