Grief

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is love, still looking for somewhere to go.

When my father was dying, I kept waiting for the profound conversation. I had questions ready. It never came — he was tired, and mostly we watched the racing. I felt cheated for about a year afterwards, and then I understood that the sitting was the conversation. Being there is not a warm-up to something more meaningful. It is the meaningful thing.
